‘The Body’: Meet the cast of Quinn Shepard’s classic teen drama series, with a dash of horror

'The Body': Meet the cast of Quinn Shepard's classic teen drama series, with a dash of horror

A new coming-of-age story is in the digital town, titled ‘The Body,’ and will soon be hitting the screens. Created by Quinn Shepard, the eight-episode series will feel like a love letter to all the ‘90s and Y2K teen movies and erotic thrillers. With multiple cliff-hangers and spooky dreads, the writer-director hopes that the series will result in popcorn and slumber parties.

Meet the cast of ‘The Body’

The regulars in the series include Kristina Bogic as Anya Butler, Sara Boustany as Elise Zakaria, Geena Meszaros as Lisbeth Anderson, Nnamdi Asomugha as Father Franklin, Louisa Krause as Catherine Anderson, Shirley Chen as Maddie Delaney, Jackson Kelly as Leo Anderson, and Sofia Wylie as Grace Franklin. Along with the main cast, the recurring characters include Kyra Pierce as Bailey Bradley, Phallon Pierce as Brit Bradley, Marcel Ruiz as Tyler Santos, and Orlando Norman as Steven Maxwell, along with a dazzling debut on the way of the reality show star Gabby Windey as Coach Miller, according to Deadline.

About ‘The Body’

“After a dance-team initiation goes wrong, a group of badly behaved Catholic school girls begin having prophetic visions that set off mass hysteria in their town,” as per the synopsis of the Netflix series. While the cast has been revealed, the release date has yet to be marked on the calendar. Talking about the inspirations, Shepard revealed that movies like ‘Mean Girls,’ ‘Jennifer’s Body,’ ‘Heavenly Creatures,’ and ‘Carrie’ have contributed to the shaping of the ‘raunchy teen drama with a dash of Catholic horror,’ but with a grounded lens. Giving the viewers a view of her personal project, the 30-year-old revealed that the story shows a ritual that goes wrong, leading to a mass frenzy. Go to Source
