‘Jailer 2’ cast: Hrithik Roshan eyed for cameo in Rajinikanth starrer

'Jailer 2' cast: Hrithik Roshan eyed for special cameo appearance in Rajinikanth starrer after Shah Rukh Khan steps away

Anticipation is skyrocketing for megastar Rajinikanth’s highly awaited sequel, ‘Jailer 2’, following online rumors of a massive new cameo. Reports indicate that Bollywood icon Hrithik Roshan is being eyed for a pivotal special appearance in the action entertainer. Helmed by director Nelson Dilipkumar and backed by Sun Pictures, the film has already wrapped up major shooting schedules across Goa, Kerala, and Chennai. Featuring a score by Anirudh Ravichander, the project continues to generate massive curiosity despite the makers keeping an official confirmation under wraps.

‘Jailer 2’ expected to feature multiple star cameos

Just like its predecessor ‘Jailer’, the sequel is also expected to include several surprise appearances from stars across different film industries. The 2023 blockbuster featured actors like Tamannaah Bhatia, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff in important cameo roles. Director Nelson reportedly wants to continue the same formula in ‘Jailer 2’ as well. Earlier, there were reports that talks were held with Shah Rukh Khan for a cameo appearance. However, reports claimed that the actor has politely stepped away from the role.

Hrithik Roshan’s name creates massive buzz among fans

Following reports on Shah Rukh Khan’s exit, Hrithik Roshan’s name has now started gaining traction among cinephiles. Popularly called Bollywood’s “Greek God” by fans for his looks and toned physique, Roshan is believed to be in discussions for the special role, as reported by Zee News. Fans are excited about the possibility of seeing him share screen space with Rajinikanth in a major commercial entertainer. While the makers have remained silent about the casting rumours, social media chatter has already begun on how Hrithik’s cameo could elevate the film’s action quotient and star value further.

Rajinikanth and Hrithik Roshan share a special connection

Interestingly, Rajinikanth and Hrithik Roshan have already appeared together in a film before. Hrithik Roshan made his child actor debut in the 1986 Hindi film ‘Bhagwaan Dada’, which starred Rajinikanth in the lead role. Hrithik Roshan played Rajinikanth’s foster son in the movie, and the actor has often spoken warmly about that experience in interviews. Meanwhile, work on ‘Jailer 2’ is said to be nearing completion, with only patchwork scenes left to be filmed. Though the film was initially expected to be released in August, reports now suggest that the makers may target a September release around the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival season. Go to Source
