How Satish Shah helped Rajesh Kumar land David Dhawan’s film

'Last recommendation by Satish Shah': Rajesh Kumar on how late actor helped him land a role in 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai'

‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,’ the upcoming film from David Dhawan, has been creating quite a lot of chatter. Actor Rajesh Kumar attended the film’s latest trailer premiere and opened up about how special the film is for him, all thanks to the late actor Satish Shah.

Rajesh Kumar remembers how Satish Shah’s recommendation landed him a role in ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’

Rajesh Kumar shared a video on his account from the trailer launch event and revealed just how special this film is for him. He mentioned his dear friend, Satish Shah, revealing that Shah was one of the biggest reasons he landed the project.During the talk, he revealed: “When my casting was being discussed, there was a call from Mukesh Chhabra’s office as well. I also spoke to David sir. David sir even waited for me to return to India—he waited for 25 days just to meet me. But there was this one man… that is why I say I will be very emotionally attached to this film. Because I consider it the last recommendation by Satish Shah. Satish ji was also David Dhawan’s batchmate and a very close friend. David sir had asked Satish ji how Rajesh is as an actor, and he recommended my name.”He posted the photo along with the caption, “Moment we can’t forget great Satish shah ji.. this film is his LAST RECOMMENDATION for me…we miss you kaka.. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻thanks @amitbhatia1509 for reminding me this #haijawanitohishqhonahai.” Kumar then concluded his emotional note by adding that “wherever he is, I think he is blessing us with this great film that we are a part of.”Rajesh Kumar and Satish Shah have known each other since they co-starred on the hit TV sitcom, ‘Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai’ as the father and son duo.
