Hema Malini gets emotional as she misses Dharmendra: ‘As a friend, father..’

Hema Malini gets emotional as she talks about Dharmendra: As a friend, father, actor, he was an inspiration, I miss him'

Legendary actor Dharmendra passed away last year in November but his family gets emotional every time they speak about him. Be it Hema Malini or his sons Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol. Not to mention, there’s a huge void in the hearts of his fans who continue to remember him through his iconic movies. A recent viral clip shows Hema Malini talking about him and how much she misses him. She can be seen praising him as an artist. In a video shared by Viral Bhayani, the ‘Dream Girl’ actress said, “His journey was filled with passion dedication and immense love for the audience. Woh hamesha yehi kehte hai, film is the way to connect to the heart. He was passionate about films, camera. As his life partner, I saw how passionate he was. And he has touched hearts of millions of people and his behaviour with everyone. He has inspired so many people, even youngsters, as an actor, as a friend, as a father. He was a great man and I was blessed to be with him. I miss him. I don’t know how I will cope up in life without him, but that’s another thing.” Earlier, the actress had reacted to Dharmendra being honoured with posthumous Padma Vibhushan. She had told ANI, “It makes us very happy, the entire country is happy. Had it come earlier, Dharmendra ji would have been extremely happy, and seeing him, his fans would have been even happier.” In a separate statement, Hema Malini described the recognition as long overdue.”So so proud that the government has recognised Dharam ji’s immense contribution to the film industry by bestowing on him the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award,” she said, expressing gratitude to the Centre for acknowledging his legacy.
