'Happy' 4K Kerala box office: Allu Arjun's re-release emerges as highest Telugu opener of 2026 in the state

The 4K re-release of ‘Happy’ has opened to a great response in Kerala. The return of the 2006 romantic action comedy has sparked celebrations across several theatres in the state. The remastered version attracted audiences across major centres, including Kozhikode, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

Strong opening numbers for the re-release

Reports suggest that ‘Happy’ 4K collected around Rs 27-30 lakh gross on its opening day in Kerala.Reports say that the re-release outperformed several recent Telugu releases in the state. It also reportedly registered a stronger opening than some other major re-released titles. The response remained strong throughout the day. Reportedly, several night shows sold out quickly.

Fan craze for ‘Mallu Arjun’

Allu Arjun’s Kerala fans posted videos, photos and messages expressing their excitement over the film’s return.One wrote, “This is just Madness To my all MALLU Brothers & Sisters hats off It’s #Happy vibe in Kerala.” Another one wrote, “The Craze for a movie which is re-released after 20 years Allu Arjun in Kerala.”Another user connected the film’s popularity to Allu Arjun’s earlier works, writing, “Many Telugu people asked why Pushpa 2 didn’t work in Kerala. The reason is that we grew up watching movies like this from him #Happy4K.”Sharing their theatre experience, another fan wrote, “Pure enjoyment in the theatre, manolu scenes re create bochu ani atmosphere chedakottesaru, this looks wonderful.” Another fan Tweeted, “Peak re-release experience! The last time I witnessed this kind of excitement was during #Mohanlal’s Chotta Mumbai and now it’s for #AlluArjun’s Happy.”

Highest Telugu opening of the year in Kerala
