‘That wish will be fulfilled soon’: Jude Anthany Joseph says screenplay for Mohanlal film is complete
Director Jude Anthany Joseph has revealed that he is preparing for a new project with Mohanlal in the lead.The filmmaker shared the update while speaking about his upcoming film ‘Thudakkam’ which marks the acting debut of Vismaya Mohanlal. During the interview, Jude disclosed that the screenplay for his film with Mohanlal has already been completed. He also hinted that more details about the project will be announced at a later stage.

Speaking to Mathrubhumi, Jude said he had always hoped to direct Mohanlal in a full-length film. He recalled seeking the actor’s blessings while filming the veteran star’s special appearance in Thudakkam. According to the director, that wish is now close to becoming a reality.He said, “‘Thudakkam’ is a complete family entertainer. It is unlike any film I have made so far. I hope audiences will come with their families and embrace it with happiness. I also believe this will be a wonderful beginning for Vismaya in Malayalam cinema.On the day we shot Mohanlal sir’s scene in the film, I sought his blessings. I told him then, ‘Please give me an opportunity to direct a full-fledged film with you in the lead.’ That wish will be fulfilled soon. Right now, I am working on a film with Mohanlal sir as the lead. The screenplay has been completed. More details will be revealed later.”Jude described ‘Thudakkam’ as a family entertainer that differs from his previous films. He expressed confidence that audiences would enjoy watching it with their families. The director also said he believes the film will provide a strong beginning to Vismaya Mohanlal’s acting career.The film introduces Vismaya Mohanlal, daughter of Mohanlal, to Malayalam cinema. It also features Ashish Jo Antony, son of producer Antony Perumbavoor, in an important role. Mohanlal himself will be seen in a special appearance.Apart from Vismaya Mohanlal and Ashish Jo Antony, ‘Thudakkam’ features Saikumar, Bobby Kurian, Ganesh Kumar, and several other actors in key roles.Before making her acting debut, Vismaya Mohanlal worked as an assistant director on ‘Barroz’, which marked Mohanlal’s directorial debut.’Thudakkam’ hits big screens on August 7.
