His demise was earlier announced in January by his ‘Emmerdale’ co-star Amy Walsh. However, at the time of his passing, no other details were shared with the public. Now, new revelations have been shared about how the actor passed away by suicide.

Frazer Hammill passed away by suicide a day after being taken into custody

Metro reported that it was revealed that the actor had passed away on December 30 after he was found in an unresponsive state at his London home. Only a few hours prior to his passing, he had been arrested by the Lancashire Police.A statement from the report further read, “Custody officers, speaking to Doncaster Coroner’s Court, described Frazer as being in ‘good spirits’ when he left the station following his arrest, adding that they had no concerns for his safety or mental well-being.” As per the report, he had left a note for his neighbours to not do anything, but to instead call the police. Another statement from the report, by Coroner Louise Slater, said ”Frazer Hammill passed away at his home on December 30. He was a single man, an actor, and very close to his family members.”

Tributes poured in for the actor

Following the news of his passing earlier this year, many people had posted tributes and emotional notes for the famed actor. The John Godber Theatre Company had also posted about his passing on their account.Their post had read, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Frazer Hammill. It is impossible to put into words how much he will be missed by all of us who had the absolute joy of working with him.” Another person wrote, “I am so saddened by the news. only spoke to Frazer just before Christmas! Checked in on him NYE, hadn’t heard back from him, numerous texts and calls, to then find the news this lovely, beautiful soul has passed away. RIP a beautiful soul who will never be forgotten.” A netizen also commented under the post, citing, “The biggest and kindest heart.
