Actor Naga Chaitanya has showered praise on the newly released thriller ‘Balan: The Boy’ after attending a special screening. The actor interacted with the film’s team and described the movie as an engaging experience filled with unexpected twists and turns.

Naga Chaitanya praises ‘Balan’

During a video interaction with the makers, Naga Chaitanya spoke about how deeply the film impacted him. He said the story continued to stay in his mind even after the screening ended.”After watching the film, it still stays with me. Even when I’m talking about it, I’m getting goosebumps. It’s full of surprises. Firstly, I thought it’s a mother and son film, a family film. But, oh God. I saw 10-15 minutes and after that I never expected that the film would steer away like this. The film is full of surprises.”The actor revealed that he initially expected a straightforward family drama. However, the narrative soon took an unexpected direction and kept him hooked throughout its runtime.

Applauds screenplay and technical brilliance

Naga Chaitanya also praised the film’s writing and technical departments. According to him the screenplay plays a major role in keeping viewers engaged and constantly guessing what will happen next.He appreciated the way every creative department contributed to the overall impact of the film. The actor felt that the storytelling approach elevated the thriller and made it a memorable cinematic experience.

Special praise for Chidambaram and team

The ‘Thandel’ actor reserved special praise for director Chidambaram and the creative team behind the project. He also referred to the popularity of Malayalam films in Telugu-speaking regions and expressed confidence that ‘Balan: The Boy’ would find similar appreciation. He said, “Audience will come to the theatre without any idea and will be surprised for sure. Jeethu, both your films ‘Manjummel Boys’ and ‘Aavesham’ are rockstars in Telugu, and this one is going to join this list for sure. You won’t expect the story and unexpected things happen due to the screenplay. The writing, visuals, music, everything came together perfectly. Congratulations for this success, Jeethu Madhavan and Chidambaram.”Directed by Chidambaram, ‘Balan: The Boy’ arrived in theatres amid high expectations. The filmmaker returned to the big screen after the blockbuster success of ‘Manjummel Boys’ which was one of Malayalam cinema’s biggest commercial hits in recent years.On the box office front, ‘Balan: The Boy’ recorded a decent start. Sacnilk website reports that the film collected Rs 1.82 crore nett in India on its opening day. It was screened across 1,316 shows nationwide.The film’s India gross collection is estimated at Rs 2.11 crore.
