Feige teases Ms. Marvel link in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Kevin Feige teases 'New Jersey presence' in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’; Ms. Marvel to lead young Avengers?

Excitement builds for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ with hints of a ‘New Jersey presence’ potentially linking to Ms. Marvel and a nascent Young Avengers team. This setup, coupled with ‘Secret Wars’ theories about Quantum Realm survivors, suggests younger heroes could lead the MCU’s next phase, possibly facing Doctor Doom in a reshaped reality.

Marvel’s upcoming film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is already sparking new fan theories, even before its trailer has officially released online. Early footage shown at CinemaCon created strong buzz, with glimpses of Doctor Doom, major team-ups, and large-scale battles. Now, comments from directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, along with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, have fueled speculation about a hidden cast reveal that could directly connect the film to ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ and beyond.

Young Avengers setup in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the Russo brothers downplayed earlier claims tied to Magneto, while Kevin Feige added that the film will have a “New Jersey presence!” This detail has led fans to link the setting to Ms. Marvel, known as the “hero of Jersey City.” If she appears, it could continue her arc after ‘Ms. Marvel’ and ‘The Marvels,’ where she began forming a new team.Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani, was last seen recruiting young heroes like Kate Bishop and referencing Cassie Lang. The theory gained more weight after ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ hinted that she was traveling to meet friends on the West Coast, possibly to bring Cassie Lang into the fold. Several young characters already exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang, Wiccan, Eli Bradley, America Chavez, and Kid Loki. The idea is that Marvel could merge these figures into a single Young Avengers team, building on threads set across multiple projects.

Secret Wars sequel setup and phase 7 future

The theory also ties into how ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ could unfold. Reports suggest the Quantum Realm may help certain heroes survive a multiverse collapse. Cassie Lang’s experience there could allow her to lead a group into safety, echoing comic storylines where survivors emerge into a reshaped reality called Battleworld. This would position younger heroes at the center of the next phase. They could “serve as the life raft survivors in the MCU adaptation” and take on Doctor Doom in a rebuilt universe. The setup mirrors the original Young Avengers concept, where a new team rises when traditional Avengers are absent.Marvel has not confirmed a Young Avengers film yet, but multiple release dates between 2028 and 2029 remain open. With actors like Kathryn Newton returning and Joe Locke reportedly signing a multi-project deal, the groundwork for a post ‘Secret Wars’ team-up appears to be in place.
