In its third week, the film added Rs 38 crore net in India over the weekend and Rs 92 crore gross globally in six days, bringing its total to Rs 809 crore—surpassing Chhaava’s lifetime collection of Rs 807 crore. However, according to Sacnilk, Kantara Chapter 1 is still short of Chhaava’s record. Its 21-day worldwide total at around Rs 775 crore, with Rs 563.50 crore net from India and about $13 million from overseas. An English-language version is scheduled to release later this month.
