Drake reveals his father is battling cancer

Drake reveals his father is battling cancer in new ‘Iceman’ song ‘Make Them Cry’

Drake recently released three new albums titled Iceman, Maid of Honour and Habibti. Several tracks on the albums feature collaborations, and the rapper also referenced multiple celebrities in his lyrics. However, it was his emotional song Make Them Cry that left fans shocked after he revealed that his father is battling cancer.Towards the end of Make Them Cry, the rapper made the heartbreaking revelation about his father’s health. He began the verse by reflecting on family responsibilities and personal struggles.“I’m an only child, no one could’ve made another / I have to father my mother and treat my son’s grandfather like my older brother.”Later in the song, Drake directly revealed that his father is currently fighting cancer.“My dad got cancer right now, we battlin’ stages / Trust me when I say there’s plenty things that I’d rather be facin’ / For real / And this time, ask me to dig deeper, I’ll gladly explain it.”The track serves as an emotional reflection on Drake’s life journey — from his childhood and rise to fame to dealing with fake friendships and his father’s health battle.
