The narrative also explores themes such as love, friendship and self-discovery and is receiving good reviews after the release.

OTT and satellite rights

Even before its theatrical release, reports suggested that the makers had successfully closed major post-release deals. As reported by Filmibeat, the satellite television rights are said to have gone to Zee Tamil. Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala Tweeted, “At a time when many producers are struggling to secure satellite and OTT deals, #DoubleOccupancy has already locked both its digital and satellite rights well ahead of release in a lucrative deal…Backed by strong pre-release buzz and encouraging reports, the film is steadily building momentum before hitting theatres tomorrow. …”

Anandita Sundar on the film’s concept

Ahead of the film’s release, creative producer Anandita Sundar spoke about the project and what makes it stand out. During an interaction with TOI City, she explained, “It’s a complete fantasy film — about a man who biologically turns into a woman every single day. It’s an exciting, fresh concept. The film has love, friendship, family and grief. There’s so much in the film that people can connect to.”Speaking about the learning process, she added, “My parents (Kushboo and Sundar C) treated this as my learning process, as did I. I knew there was a lot I had to learn, and I tried to be as hands-on as possible.”With good reviews out on social media, ‘Double Occupancy’ is expected to do good business at the box office.
