Dhyan Sreenivasan's 'Secret of Kalinga' delayed again before release

Dhyan Sreenivasan’s ‘Secret of Kalinga’ has been postponed again, and the makers have set June 18 as the new theatrical release date. The mystery horror comedy was first planned for May 21 before the team moved it to June 11. The latest shift came one day before that date. The makers have not shared an official reason for the new delay, instead focusing on the revised release plan and the film’s final rollout.

‘Secret of Kalinga’ release date update

Cinema Express reported that the makers announced the new release date on Wednesday. The report said ‘Secret of Kalinga’ will now reach theaters on June 18 after missing its earlier June 11 plan. It also noted that the film had already moved once from its original May 21 date. No official statement has explained why the makers pushed the release again.Directed by Saneesh Unnikrishnan, ‘Secret of Kalinga’ falls into the mystery-horror-comedy space. The film pairs suspense with humor and follows a premise that the makers have so far kept largely under wraps. Saneesh Unnikrishnan co-wrote the screenplay with Jishnu M Aaryan.Dhyan leads the cast, which also includes Althaf Salim, Riyaz Khan, and popular social media content creator Nithin Parameswar in key roles. Their presence gives the film a mix of familiar film faces and a digital-era performer who already has a strong audience online.

‘Secret of Kalinga’ cast and crew

Basheer Varandharappilly and Sulthan produced ‘Secret of Kalinga’ under the banner of Aira Films. Asrith Santhosh handled the cinematography, while Aswanth Raveendran edited the film. Gokul Sreekandan composed the music. Dhanush Harikumar and Vimaljith Vijayan jointly composed the background score. The film adds to Dhyan Sreenivasan’s busy slate. He was last seen in Rajesh Amanakara’s ‘Kalyanamaram’, which also starred child actor Devananda of ‘Malikappuram’ fame. Dhyan also has Nijish Sahadevan’s ‘Thevar’ in the pipeline. The makers are now expected to proceed with the June 18 release date and resume promotions in line with the new theatrical plan.
