Declyn Lauper, son of Cyndi Lauper, has pleaded guilty to a 2024 gun charge, avoiding jail time. He agreed to probation, remaining arrest-free for a year, and substance abuse treatment. If terms are met, his charge could be reduced to criminal possession of a firearm, a significant reduction from the potential seven-year sentence.

Declyn “Dex” Lauper, the son of famed pop icon Cyndi Lauper, will not be serving time in prison over his 2024 gun-related charges. As per the latest reports, Lauper pleaded guilty to the charges almost two years after the incident actually happened. In 2024, Lauper was taken into custody after the shooting of a 24-year-old man in Harlem. It was stated in the report that at the time, Lauper had a fanny pack on him that contained a gun.
