Dada Saheb Phalke awardee Mohanlal to be honoured again: A special felicitation in Kerala, Musical tribute to follow

Mohanlal, considered one of the greatest actors in the Malayalam film industry, received the ‘Dada Saheb Phalke Award’ for the year 2023 from President Draupadi Murmu at the National Awards ceremony on the September 23. 2025. This award honored Mohanlal’s quality acting in Indian cinema, his artistic talent in various languages, and his privileged impact on society.

Kerala government organizes special felicitation

To mark this success, the Kerala government has organized a special felicitation ceremony for Mohanlal. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will attend the event titled ‘Lal-Salam’ on October 4th at 5 pm and present a certificate of honor to Mohanlal. The event will be attended by many prominent figures from the Indian film industry and fans.

Musical tribute with Mohanlal’s songs

Following the felicitation ceremony, a musical performance titled ‘Aadam Namukku Paadal’, featuring covers of Mohanlal’s film songs, will be screened. Directed by Rajeev Kumar, this event will feature songs by many singers including Sujatha Mohan, Shwetha Mohan, Sithara, Arya Dayal, Manjari, Jyothsna, Nithya Menen, who highlighted Mohanlal’s acting and art. Before each song, actors and actresses who have acted alongside Mohanlal, including Urvashi, Shobana, Manju Warrier, Parvathy, Karthika, Meena, Lissy, Ranjini, Ramya Krishnan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, and Malavika Mohanan, spoke.

Mohanlal’s milestones and current projects

Mohanlal has acted in over 360 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, beyond Malayalam. He has showcased his talent in Tamil films including ‘Iruvar’, ‘Siraichaalai’, ‘Jilla’, ‘Kaappaan’, and ‘Jailer’. The film ‘Puli Murugan’ achieved a collection record of Rs. 100 crore in the Malayalam film industry. The film ‘L2: Empuran’ is the highest-grossing film on its first day. The Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and 5 National Awards winner has been captivating the hearts of the audience with his acting skills and calm demeanor.
