'Dacoit' OTT partner revealed ahead of the Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur starrer's April 10 release

Mark your calendars! On April 10, 2026, ‘Dacoit,’ an action-packed drama featuring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, will grace the silver screen before it becomes available for streaming on Prime Video.

‘Dacoit’ now has both a theatrical release date and a confirmed streaming home. The Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur starrer will release in theaters on April 10, 2026, after its postponement, and it will stream on Prime Video once its big-screen run ends. The Telugu action drama, directed by Shaneil Deo, has drawn attention for its lead pairing, its revenge-driven plot, and the addition of filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap in a key role.

Dacoit’s release and Prime Video update

Prime Video confirmed that ‘Dacoit’ will stream on the platform after its theatrical run. Amazon Prime Video unveiled its 2026 slate on March 19 and included Adivi Sesh’s upcoming film in the lineup of titles headed to the service. That confirms Prime Video as the streaming partner for the film after its theatrical release. The film was earlier set for March 27, 2026, but will now open on April 10, 2026, after a postponement linked to the ‘Dhurandhar 2’ release wave.

Dacoit’s cast, story, and release date details

The film stars Adivi Sesh in the lead, with Mrunal Thakur as the female lead, marking their first on-screen collaboration. The pairing has already created strong interest among Telugu film fans. During the Prime Video event, Adivi Sesh praised his co-star and was quoted as “calling her the soul of the film.” Earlier reports linked Shruti Haasan to the project, but she exited due to creative differences; Mrunal later joined the cast. Anurag Kashyap also plays a major part and is reportedly set to appear as the antagonist. The supporting cast includes Prakash Raj and Sunil. The film’s technical team includes music director Bheems Ceciroleo and editor Kodati Pavan Kalyan. As for the story, the film follows a man played by Adivi Sesh who is “wrongfully accused of a crime and convicted.” He then escapes from prison and frames his former girlfriend. The story explores love, betrayal, and revenge. Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo collaborated on the story and screenplay, giving the film a personal creative stamp ahead of its April 10 theatrical release and later streaming debut on Prime Video.
