Chris Martin urges fans to ‘send love’ Charlie Kirk’s family

Coldplay's Chris Martin urges fans to be empathetic to late Charlie Kirk's family: 'You send them love anyway'

Chris Martin, the Coldplay band member, made headlines a couple of months ago for the controversial ‘Kiss Cam’ session in one of his concerts in Boston. As the band members travelled to different parts of the world, they continued to receive mixed reactions from fans for a tad arguable moves, where the lead vocalist encouraged the audience to send love to the deceased conservative and social activist, Charlie Kirk.

Chris Martin asks the audience to send their love to Charlie Kirk’s family

Before the band tuned in to ‘Fix You,’ Martin took the opportunity to ask the audience to share love with everyone in the world at their concert in Wembley Stadium, UK. “Let’s raise our hands like this and send love anywhere you want to send it in the world,” he said in the viral video, before adding, “You can send this to your brother or your sister. You can send it to the families of people who’ve been going through terrible stuff. You can send it to Charlie Kirk’s family. You can send it to anybody’s family. You can send it to people you disagree with, but you send them love anyway.”Furthermore, the 48-year-old expressed that concertgoers can send their goodwill to the peaceful people in the Middle East, Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan, Sudan, and Somalia as well. Nearing the end of the ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour,’ the British band certainly broke records and caught the online attention.

The mixed reactions

The love-sending incentive granted Chris Martin and his band some mixed reactions online, where many people disagreed with his stance about Kirk, while others applauded the singer for encouraging people to send goodwill anyway, irrespective of the person. For Coldplay, the speech represents how they are willing to promote peace over hatred. Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old high-profile social activist and an ally of US President Donald Trump, was brutally killed in Utah after succumbing to a gunshot. The controversial persona was renowned for his debates at the university campuses with the students.
