Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Captain India’, first announced back in 2021 with Hansal Mehta as director, gears up for production this summer under Shimit Amin. Filmmakers target May to July for shooting. After five years without updates, a new report says the project is finally on track.

‘Captain India’ summer shoot confirmed

‘Captain India’ was announced in 2021 with Kartik Aaryan as the lead and Hansal Mehta directing. It stalled for five years, puzzling industry watchers about its future. Now, as per the reports, the aviation drama resumes production this summer. The first look dropped in July 2021.According to Mid-Day, the makers are eyeing a window between May and July for filming. With Hansal Mehta no longer involved, Shimit Amin, known for ‘Chak De! India’ has taken over as director. Recently, there were rumours that Amin had also exited the project. The delays caused those rumours. The film is on track, and Shimit is directing it. Kartik is currently shooting for another T-Series film, and once that’s done, he’ll begin ‘Captain India’.

Kartik Aaryan work front update

On the work front, Kartik Aaryan’s latest film was ‘Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri’ (2026), helmed by Sameer Vidwans. Next up, he will be seen in an action-thriller ‘Naagzilla’ in August 2026. The actor is currently shooting an untitled musical with Anurag Basu and Sreeleela, slated for 2026, riding high after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s success.
