Bobby : “It is more about being accepted as an actor”

Bobby Deol :

Bobby Deol, after a period away from the spotlight, has experienced a remarkable resurgence in his career, thanks to projects like ‘Animal’ and ‘Aashram.’ With upcoming roles in high-profile films and web series, Deol emphasizes the importance of hard work and consistent performance over fleeting stardom, focusing on being accepted as an actor for long-term success.

Bobby Deol began his career in the 1990s with films like Barsaat, Gupt, Soldier , Humraaz and Ajnabee. But soon after he disappeared only to be brought back by Salman Khan in Race 3 and Prakash Jha with his web show Aashram. But it was Sandeep Reddy Vanga;s Animal that changed the entire industry’s perception about him and today he’s everywhere. His recently released show The Ba***ds of Bollywood where he played superstar Ajay Talwar, directed by Aryan Khan is already topping the charts. His next would be Aditya Chopra’s Alpha with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari which will be followed by Thalapathy Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan. He also teamed up with Anurag Kashyap for Bandar which was screened at Toronto International Film Festival, he has many more projects in the pipeline. Talking about the unique space he is in his career, in an exclusive interview with ETimes he said , “Definitely it is. I worked so hard to get into this space. I made this space happen. Only your hard work can take you into this zone, or in this space. And I’m really excited as to what the future holds for me, because at the end of the day, it’s your work that speaks for you. Most of these projects I got because of the earlier work in the recent past that I’ve done”.He continued, “So, I’m very excited. I think each person here, who is trying to make a strong foothold in this industry, has the same desire of becoming a star. Actually it’s not just about becoming a star. I believe it is more about being accepted as an actor. Because then your inning becomes longer. Because stars shine for a while and then they fade. But eventually, if you see any of the actors who are big stars in the industry, they have also been through bad phases. But eventually, it’s their work that spoke for them.”Bobby’s words reveal a grounded perspective, emphasizing that while stardom is fleeting, dedication to craft and consistent hard work is what ultimately defines longevity in the film industry.
