Bhumi Pednekar opens up on facing trolls: 'When a woman is targetted...'

Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar opened up about facing trolling, resilience, and the pressures of life in a recent event. The ‘Pati Patni aur Woh’ actor discussed the challenges of navigating online bullying, especially when women are targeted. She also opened up on how she finds the inner strength to keep moving forward.

Navigating trolls and criticism

On dealing with trolls, Bhumi admitted at the India Today Mumbai Conclave, “Trolling, bullying, whatever you call it, we’re used to it. But when women are targeted, I don’t always know how to deal with it.”

The actress said that she doesn’t wake up with courage and she finds it within herself as she doesn’t have any other option on how to face such trolls. She emphasized that social media brings constant noise and opinions, but her drive and ambition keep her going through difficult moments.

Learning from box-office lows

Bhumi also opened up on the pain of seeing critically acclaimed films underperform at the box office. “It breaks you when a film gets credibility but doesn’t do numbers. I’ve been through that. And in those lonely moments, I realised I am more than just the films I do, I have a voice I want to extend. That’s what gives me the courage to keep going,” she said.

Resilience as a guiding force

The actor highlighted her determination to pick herself up in the face of setbacks. She said that she is not someone who will go into a dark room and give up. Bhumi added that she doesn’t have the machinery to hold her hand through failures. “I have to pick myself up because I support an ecosystem. Nobody else is putting bread and butter on my plate, it’s me, ” said the talented actress.
