'Kaalidas 2' OTT release date: Where to watch the crime thriller starring Bharath

The Tamil crime thriller film ‘Kaalidas 2’ is now available to stream on several digital media platforms after its theatrical debut. The film was released in theaters on April 3, 2026, and is a sequel to the detective thriller movie ‘Kaalidas’ released in 2019. Like its predecessor, this film follows the exploits of Inspector Kaalidas in a fascinating case.Sri Senthil directed the thriller movie. The movie also stars Ajay Karthi, Sangita Madhavan Nair, Abarnathi, and Bhavani Sre in important roles, along with a strong supporting cast that includes Prakash Raj, Kishore, Ananth Nag, Raja Ravindra, T. M. Karthik, and Suresh Chandra Menon.

‘Kaalidas 2’ OTT release details

After its theatrical release, ‘Kaalidas 2’ has now arrived on multiple OTT platforms for streaming. From May 12 onwards, the Tamil version of the film is officially available on Amazon Prime Video, Sun NXT, Aha, Simply South, Tentkotta, ShortFlix, and Lionsgate Play.The film chose a multi-platform digital release strategy, allowing audiences from different regions to stream it easily. In recent months, several Tamil films have followed the same release pattern after their theatrical run, helping movies reach a wider audience online. Those who missed this thriller movie at the cinema now have the chance to see it comfortably at home.

Inspector Kaalidas has yet another challenging investigation

The plot of the ‘Kaalidas 2’ movie is based on the disappearance of a four-year-old girl from the family during the New Year celebration at an apartment building complex. During the investigation, Inspector Kaalidas starts to realize that several other residents become suspects. The case gets harder when various secrets of those people get revealed.One main part of the movie plot involves the conflict between Kaalidas and DSP Vaishnavi. Their opposition makes the movie more intriguing and exciting.

A strong team behind ‘Kaalidas 2’

Sri Senthil wrote and directed the film, while Aravindan Anand developed the screenplay. Sam C. S. composed the background score for the thriller movie, and his music plays a crucial role in the film’s suspenseful nature. Suresh Bala was responsible for the cinematography while Bhuvan Srinivasan edited the movie.Om Prakash handled the stunt work, while G. Durairaj was the production designer.
