‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ crashes on Monday; earns under Rs 1 cr

'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata' box office collection Day 4: Kangana Ranaut starrer crashes on first Monday; earnings fall below Rs 1 crore

‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, witnessed a huge drop in earnings on its first Monday at the Indian box office. The film that released on Friday, had been struggling to keep its collections above the Rs 1 crore mark at the box office over its debut weekend.

‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ Day 4 collections

On Monday, the film saw its collections dropping below the Rs 1 crore mark. According to early estimates on sacnilk, the film collected a net Rs 65 lakh on Day 4 across 1,866 shows. The figure marks a huge 63.9 per cent drop in collections from Sunday’s earnings of Rs 1.80 crore. While all films witness in a dip in collections on its first Monday, the film may just find it hard to pick up its pace, after falling under the Rs 1 crore mark. With the latest numbers, ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ has earned an estimated India gross collection of Rs 5.86 crore and an India net collection of Rs 4.90 crore after four days in theatres.

‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ vs ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’

The film’s struggles become more apparent when compared to its competitors. The Imtiaz Ali directed ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ collected a net Rs 1.25 crore on Day 4 from 2,139 shows. Although the film also experienced a weekday decline, its drop was comparatively lower 50 per cent from Sunday’s Rs 2.50 crore. The film’s total collections now stand at Rs 8.10 crore gross and Rs 6.75 crore net, comfortably ahead of ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’.

‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ vs ‘Haunted 3D’

However, the clear winner of the weekend continues to be ‘Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past’. The horror thriller earned Rs 2.20 crore net on Monday, registering a 38.9 per cent decline from its Sunday collection of Rs 3.60 crore.Despite the drop, the horror film’s hold on Monday was significantly stronger than both competing releases.

Road ahead

The coming weekdays will reportedly be crucial for ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’. If collections continue to remain below the Rs 1 crore mark, the film may find it difficult to significantly improve its overall box-office collections. The film, which is set against the backdrop of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, had generated attention ahead of release and received support from political leaders, with some states granting tax exemptions. However, that support has not yet translated into strong box office returns. Go to Source
