As ‘Karuppu’ continues to receive strong audience support in theatres, Atlee’s appreciation has added even more buzz around the film’s success.

Atlee praises ‘Karuppu’

Taking to Instagram Stories, Atlee shared the film’s poster along with a long appreciation note for the team. He wrote, “’Karuppu’ movie was stunning. So entertaining to watch. Complete treat for family audience. Don’t miss this in the theatre, pure mass commercial blockbuster. Congratulations, RJ Balaji bro. Suriya..sir, you killed it. And to the entire team, congratulations.” He also praised technicians, including cinematographer G. K. Vishnu, music director Sai Abhyankkar, and editor R. Kalaivanan, calling their work “verithanam.” Fans have been widely sharing Atlee’s statement across social media platforms.

‘Karuppu’ continues its strong run at the box office

The film is also performing strongly at the box office. According to Sacnilk, ‘Karuppu’ collected Rs 8.94 crore on Wednesday, taking its India net total to Rs 103.99 crore. The India gross collection currently stands at Rs 119.64 crore. After opening with Rs 15.50 crore on day one, the film saw massive growth during the weekend and touched Rs 28.35 crore on Sunday alone. Despite weekday drops, the movie comfortably crossed the Rs 100 crore mark within its first week. The film has already performed better than some of Suriya’s recent releases like ‘Retro’ and ‘Kanguva.’

‘Karuppu’ overcomes release trouble and emerges as a big winner

Interestingly, ‘Karuppu’ almost missed its theatrical release due to last-minute financial issues between producers and distributors. The film was originally scheduled for release on May 14, but screenings were suddenly cancelled just hours before the first shows. Later, RJ Balaji officially confirmed that the issues had been resolved, and the film was finally released the next day. Since then, the movie has managed to build excellent word-of-mouth among family audiences and fans. Meanwhile, Atlee is currently busy working on his next big project, ‘Raaka,’ starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone. Go to Source
