Ashwath Marimuthu takes charge of ‘Thalaivar 173’

Ashwath Marimuthu takes charge of 'Thalaivar 173'; Rajinikanth's much-awaited film begins production

After many discussions and revisions behind the scenes, the highly anticipated ‘Thalaivar 173’ film is finally beginning production. It is a joint production involving Kamal Haasan and starring Rajinikanth that has been among the most discussed movies in the Tamil movie industry. Since its announcement, fans have eagerly awaited news about the project. Now, filming has officially started in Chennai.

Multiple director changes delayed the film’s launch

However, the path for ‘Thalaivar 173’ has been uneven. To start with, Sundar C, the director, was supposed to direct this movie. However, he later stepped away from the project. Following his exit, director Cibi Chakaravarthi came on board and even expressed confidence about delivering a film that would satisfy fans. Yet, he too reportedly moved away from the project after creative discussions. Due to such unforeseen happenings, it took many months before anything concrete materialized.

Ashwath Marimuthu takes charge of the big-budget project

The latest report from Filmibeat indicates that Ashwath Marimuthu has now taken over as director of ‘Thalaivar 173.’ Known for his fresh storytelling style, Ashwath Marimuthu reportedly prioritised this prestigious project over other commitments. The report suggests that he has already begun work on key sequences. According to reports, the production unit started work on scenes that don’t involve Rajinikanth, thereby ensuring there are no more delays in the project. This approach is helping the makers stay on schedule while preparing for the superstar’s arrival on set.

Rajinikanth expected to join the shooting soon

According to reports, the ongoing schedule includes song sequences choreographed by popular dance master Sandy Master. While Rajinikanth has not yet joined the current schedule, report mentioned that he is expected to participate in the shoot within the next few days. The commencement of the production process has created a lot of enthusiasm among fans who had been waiting for something substantial to happen with this movie. The production of the movie under a new director appears to have gotten back on track. Go to Source
