Anurag hits back at trolls labelling him as ‘Nashedi’

Anurag Kashyap hits back at trolls labelling him as 'Nashedi'; says 'Meri aankehin baadi baadi hai'

Anurag Kashyap dismissed being labeled a “nashedi”, attributing it to his large eyes. He said, “Meri aankehin baadi baadi hai na…” Critics claiming no success were told, “Meri film ne ek ticket bhi nahi bhecha…” He dislikes being tied to ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ and may collaborate with Salman Khan on a dark cop thriller.

Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently reacted to being called a “nashedi” (drug addict), dismissing the label as a misconception. The filmmaker explained that the criticism mostly stems from his distinctively large eyes, not any drug use.

Anurag Kashyap on his distinctive eyes

Kashyap responded to the criticism by saying, “Meri aankehin baadi baadi hai na, saari problem iski wajha se hai, iski wajah se hi log mujhe ganjedi aur nashedi patani kya kay bolte hai. Ab ye meri galti thodi na hai ki main inn aankhon ke saath paida hua hoon (My eyes are big, right? All the problems are because of them. That’s why people call me a pothead or a drug addict. It’s not my fault that I was born with these eyes),” as reported by the Indian Express.

Addressing commercial success criticism

In a recent video, Anurag responded sharply to critics who say he has never produced a commercially successful film. He said, “Meri film ne ek ticket bhi nahi bhecha tabhi unka nuksaan jo hai na saal ki 80% films jo flop hoti hai usse kum hai (Even if my film didn’t sell a single ticket, their loss is still less than the 80% of films that flop every year)”.

Anurag Kashyap shares frustration over ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’

He also shared his strong feelings about being repeatedly linked to his famous film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur.’ He confessed, “Mujhe Wasseypur se sakht nafrat hai. Jabhi koi aadmi mujhe bolta hai na Wasseypur wale toh mera mann karta hai joota nikal ke maroon? (I have a deep hatred for Wasseypur. Whenever someone calls me ‘the Wasseypur guy,’ I feel like taking off my shoe and hitting them).”

Possible collaboration with Salman Khan?

Recently, a recent viral Reddit post suggests that Salman Khan is reported to collaborate with Anurag Kashyap on a new project. The film is described as a dark grounded action cop thriller. The post mentions, “Salman Khan and Anurag Kashyap may work together (which was kind of shocking considering what Abhinav has been saying to media). Bobby Deol has suggested and is working as a mediator between the two. Bobby really respects Salman for helping in reviving his career and he also loved working with Anurag in Bandar which is said to be his best performance in the industry. The movie will be a dark grounded action cop thriller.” Go to Source
