Anne Hathaway’s mother corrected her posture at Oscars 2011

When Anne Hathaway’s mom corrected her posture during the Academy Awards ‘in front of a billion people’

The Academy Awards has become one of the biggest celebrations of cinema across the world. Over the years, the event has also given audiences some iconic and hilarious moments, including the time when Anne Hathaway and James Franco hosted the prestigious ceremony back in 2011.

When Anne Hathaway got schooled by her mother during the Oscars

One of the funniest moments in Oscar history involved Anne Hathaway and her mother, Kate McCauley Hathaway. During the 2011 Oscar ceremony, Hathaway and James Franco were selected to host the event. In one of the segments, while the duo was on stage, the Mother Mary actor called out to her mother, who was attending the ceremony to support her daughter.Hilariously, however, Hathaway ended up getting schooled “in front of a billion people,” as she later joked. When she pointed her mother out in the audience, the actress excitedly said, “Hi, Mom, you look so beautiful.” However, when Kate McCauley Hathaway stood up, she quickly corrected her daughter’s posture in a hilarious moment.“Annie, honey, stand up straight,” Kate quipped while smiling at her daughter, leaving everyone in the venue in splits. The scripted moment quickly turned into a relatable mother-daughter exchange as Hathaway responded, “Okay Mom, I get the note, please sit down,” while continuing the segment with a smile on her face.

About Anne Hathaway

On the work front, Hathaway was last seen in Mother Mary, a film about a returning pop star who reconnects with her stylist and best friend after years, leading to a series of unsettling events.Apart from that, she has also returned to the big screen with The Devil Wears Prada 2, reprising her role as Andy Sachs nearly 20 years after the release of the first film.Looking ahead, Hathaway will also star in Verity, based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover.
