Anil Kapoor jokes about missing out on ‘Dhamaal 4’: ‘Kya hua, Ajay Devgn ne mana kiya kya?’

Anil Kapoor, promoting ‘Subedaar’, playfully addressed not being part of ‘Dhamaal 4’ and recalled his friendship with filmmakers. Joking with Indra Kumar, he asked why he wasn’t cast, leaving the crowd laughing. Dhamaal 4 stars Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh, while Subedaar releases on March 5, 2026.

While promoting his next release, ‘Subedaar’, Anil Kapoor was asked about not being a part of ‘Dhamaal 4’, the latest chapter in the much-loved comedy series. The actor, known for his wit, playfully brought up the topic while speaking about his rapport with filmmakers. The upcoming film will see the return of the original team Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra, and Jaaved Jaafery.

During the event, Anil reflected on his enduring bonds with filmmakers, noting that he has shared lasting friendships with every director he’s collaborated with over the years, including industry stalwarts like N. Chandra, Subhash Ghai, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. He even showcased his trademark wit, playfully reenacting how his lighthearted conversations with directors about upcoming projects usually unfold.

Bringing his signature humour to the event, Anil couldn’t resist joking about being left out of ‘Dhamaal 4’. The actor theatrically recalled his exchange with director Indra Kumar, saying, “Aye Indu! Kya ho gaya hai? Teri Dhamaal 4. Liya nahi mujhe picture mein? Chalo theek hai koi baat nahi, Ajay ne mana kiya kya?” His lighthearted quip drew laughter from the crowd, and he wrapped up with a grin, adding, “Toh apna ye chalta rehta hai. ”

Directed by Suresh Triveni, the film portrays Anil as Subedaar Arjun Maurya, a retired army officer adjusting to civilian life while battling crime, corruption, and personal challenges in India’s heartland.
