'Shakti Shalini': Aneet Padda's power-packed announcement LEAKS online; Film set for December 2026 debut

After days of anticipation, the announcement of Aneet Padda’s upcoming film ‘Shakti Shalini’, finally played out on the big screen for fans to see. The clip, formally introduced the actress as ‘Shakti Shalini’ and introduced her into the horror universe. The teaser, which reportedly debuts during the post-credits scene of the horror-comedy ‘Thamma’, leaked online and has since gone viral on fan handles, sparking widespread excitement among fans of the actress.The leaked teaser features lines that read, “The protector. The destroyer. The mother of all. Aneet Padda in Shakti Shalini. Shakti unleashed Dec 24, 2026.” This clip not only confirms Padda in the lead role in the latest instalment of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), but also sets it up for a festive 2026 release. The clip, which was initially intended to be a surprise for theatregoers, however, it leaked online days ahead of the film’s release.Fans, nonetheless, cheered for Aneet and shared the clip on their handles Ayushmann Khurrana, who played the leading man in ‘Thamma’, opposite Rashmika Mandanna, also added to the buzz about Aneet’s entry, by teasing her cameo in the film.As per reports, Padda replaced Kiara Advani as the lead of ‘Shakti Shalini’. This casting change generated significant interest, especially following the actress’ breakout performance in the romantic drama ‘Saiyaara’.While plot details for the upcoming film remain under wraps, the teaser hints at her character being a force to reckon with in the upcoming film set for a Chirstmas 2026 release.
