‘Raaka’ star Allu Arjun made a virtual appearance before the Nampally Criminal Court on Monday, July 6, 2026, in connection with the tragic Sandhya Theatre stampede case. The legal proceedings stem from a chaotic crowd surge during a premiere screening of his blockbuster film Pushpa: The Rule in Hyderabad, which tragically resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and severely injured her young son. The Chikkadpally Police filed a comprehensive chargesheet against 23 individuals and officially named the National Award-winning actor as Accused No. 11; the theater’s management comprises Accused 1 through 10.

Allu Arjun appears through video conference

According to a report by IANS, Allu Arjun attended the hearing via video conference. The legal team also stated that two other accused were absent and would file absence petitions. After hearing the matter, the court adjourned the case to July 29.

What was the stampede incident?

For the unversed, a stampede occurred at Sandhya Theatre where a massive crowd gathered to see the actor, resulting in the death of 35-year-old Revathi and serious injuries to her eight-year-old son. Earlier, on June 22, the Nampally Criminal Court had postponed the hearing to July 6 after some of the accused failed to appear before the Magistrate. During that hearing, Allu Arjun did not appear virtually, and his lawyer submitted an absence petition on his behalf.

Police filed chargesheet

The Chikkadpally Police named Allu Arjun as Accused No. 11 in the case. The management of Sandhya Theatre has been listed as Accused Nos. 1 to 10. The Nampally Court issued summons to 19 accused persons. Police also filed a chargesheet against 23 people in connection with the incident. Following the tragedy, financial support was announced for the victim’s family. Film producer Allu Aravind said that Rs 2 crore would be given to help the family of Revathi.
