Allu Arjun ’42 rules’ row: Strategist issues apology

Allu Arjun ‘42 rules’ row: Strategist who made the claim issues apology, says statements were ‘incorrect’

Kaveri Baruah, the brand strategist, has issued an apology regarding her earlier statements about a purported list of ‘dos and don’ts’ for interacting with Allu Arjun. She acknowledged that her comments were unfounded and expressed regret for any misunderstandings they may have caused. Allu Arjun’s team had previously refuted these claims and hinted at the possibility of legal action.

Brand strategist Kaveri Baruah, who recently made headlines after talking about the alleged protocol to meet superstar Allu Arjun, has now issued an apology. During a recent podcast, the strategist spoke about allegedly being handed a list of ‘42 dos and don’ts’ before meeting the actor. She claimed the list includes directions such as ‘don’t look straight into sir’s eyes’, and ‘don’t shake his hands’. The allegations soon gained traction, and she has now penned an open apology letter, expressing that the remarks were not accurate. She also denied being issued any such document to her. “Over the past few days, a clip from my recent podcast appearance has circulated widely on social media. During the course of that conversation, I made certain statements regarding alleged “dos and don’ts” said to have been associated with Actor Mr. Allu Arjun prior to a meeting. Upon reflection, I wish to clarify that these statements were incorrect and were not based on any verified document or factual material,” the strategist said. Baruah also denied being handed any rule book on the actor’s behalf. “To be clear, no document containing ’42 dos and don’ts’ was issued to me by Mr. Allu Arjun or by anyone acting on his behalf. My remarks were made in the flow of conversation and should not have been presented as factual assertions,” she said. The brand strategist further explained that she regrets making such statements. “I sincerely regret making those statements and any misunderstanding or reputational harm they may have caused. I withdraw the remarks in their entirety. I have the utmost respect for Mr. Allu Arjun and his body of work, and regret any inconvenience caused,” she said. The controversy broke out after the brand strategist appeared on Sweekriti Talks podcast, where she made the claims. After a short video from the podcast went viral, Allu Arjun’s team issued an official clarification, denying any such list. In an official statement, Allu Arjun’s team said, “Certain recent comments made about Mr. Allu Arjun are completely baseless and untrue. He has always conducted himself with the utmost dignity and honour. We take these false allegations seriously. Our legal team is initiating defamation procedings against those responsible. We request everyone to refrain from spreading unverified information.” On the professional front, Allu Arjun has an Atlee and Lokesh Kanagaraj directorials in the pipeline.
