Born on January 6, 1967, the singer began his journey with a humble life. He was born in Madras, and from the get-go, his childhood was influenced by music. His father was a film score composer and conductor at the time for Malayalam films, and after starting piano at the age of four, he would often accompany and help his father in the studio. After his father’s passing, he worked to support his family and would often miss his classes. Through all of this, he managed to complete his schooling. In college, he soon dropped out altogether to pursue music. He used to work as a member of various bands, including the Roots and Nemesis Avenue. He started composing music for TV shows and serials later on in the 1980s, and the rest is history. His first work in a film came in 1992 with Mani Ratnam’s ‘Roja.’Over the past 30+ years, A.R.
