Adnan Sami was set to collaborate with MJ before his death

Adnan Sami reveals he was set to collaborate with Michael Jackson before the singer’s death: 'With his passing, the album also ended'

Singer and composer Adnan Sami recently opened up about a missed international collaboration that could have become one of the biggest moments of his career. In a conversation, Adnan revealed that he was in talks to work with the legendary Michael Jackson and his brothers on a world music album before the pop icon’s untimely death. The singer shared that the collaboration discussions began after Michael Jackson decided to make a comeback alongside the Jackson brothers.

‘Michael Jackson wanted to return with his brothers first’

Recalling the incident, Adnan told Radio Nasha, “When Michael Jackson was planning his comeback, he had decided that he would first return with his brothers as The Jacksons. After that album, he planned to work on his next solo album.”According to Adnan, this happened after Michael had overcome the difficult phase surrounding allegations against him. “Once all those problems ended and he was cleared of all allegations, he decided that the first album would be with his brothers,” he said.

Jermaine Jackson approached Adnan Sami after hearing his music

Adnan revealed that Jermaine Jackson had already heard his music and personally reached out to him for a collaboration.“Jermaine had heard my music and approached me saying, ‘We really love your music and want to collaborate with you. Maybe you can produce some songs with us because we want the next album to have a world music format and not just be a typical Jackson album,’” Adnan recalled. The singer admitted he was shocked that Jermaine Jackson was familiar with his work.

‘I even interacted with Michael Jackson on phone calls’

As discussions progressed, Adnan said he was introduced to Michael Jackson over the phone and the two began interacting regularly.“When we started interacting, they also connected me with Michael on the phone. We were constantly interacting over calls, and we had finalised three songs together,” he shared.Adnan further revealed that the songs were based on his original compositions and the team had already started working on them.

‘The album ended with Michael Jackson’s death’

However, the collaboration never materialised after Michael Jackson passed away in 2009.“Unfortunately, Michael passed away, and with that, the album also ended,” Adnan said emotionally. He revealed that nearly two years of work had already gone into the project by then. After Michael’s death, Jermaine Jackson suggested that they continue working together on music.“Jermaine told me that we had worked so hard together, so why not continue and do something together anyway? Then Jermaine and I made and produced a song together,” Adnan shared. The singer concluded by saying that life often leaves behind unfinished moments and unrealised dreams. Go to Source
