Hyundai i20 crosses 1.5 million cumulative sales in India

The current Hyundai i20 is powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine and is offered with a 5-speed manual transmission (MT) and Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Friday said the cumulative sales of its premium hatchback i20 have crossed 1.5 million units in India, nearly two decades after the model was introduced in the country in 2008.

According to the company’s statement, the i20 has played a key role in the premium hatchback segment, gaining traction among young professionals, urban families and customers seeking a premium ownership experience.

The i20 has evolved over three generations, introducing premium features, connected-car technologies and comprehensive safety equipment to cater to changing customer preferences, the company said.

“We thank our customers for making the i20 a preferred choice in the premium hatchback segment and remain committed to delivering products and experiences that exceed expectations,” said Sunil Moolchandani, National Sales Head, Hyundai Motor India Limited.

The current Hyundai i20 is powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine and is offered with a 5-speed manual transmission (MT) and Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

The company also offers the Hyundai i20 N Line, powered by a 1.0-litre Turbo GDi petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), as well as the i20 Knight Edition, which features black-themed styling and exclusive design elements.
