Aamir Khan visits Arijit Singh at his Jiaganj home days after singer announces playback exit

Nearly a week after Arijit Singh announced his exit from playback singing, Aamir Khan visited the singer’s home in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal, on Monday. Videos of the superstar’s visit quickly went viral, fuelling speculation about the purpose of his sudden trip.In one circulating clip, Aamir is seen stepping out of his car and waving at the shutterbugs stationed nearby. Another video shows the Laal Singh Chaddha actor seated inside his vehicle as photographers jostle to catch a glimpse of him. While many online believe Aamir may have gone to persuade Arijit to reconsider his decision, there is no official confirmation about what the two discussed during the meeting.

A long musical association

Arijit Singh has lent his voice to several memorable tracks for films headlined by Aamir Khan. In 2016, he sang Naina for Aamir’s blockbuster Dangal, a song that went on to become one of the film’s emotional high points.Their collaboration continued in 2022 with Laal Singh Chaddha, the official remake of Forrest Gump. Arijit crooned two soulful tracks for the film—Tere Hawaale and Phir Na Aisi Raat Aayegi—both of which struck a chord with listeners despite the film’s mixed reception.

‘Not a sudden decision,’ says Arijit

Addressing fans from his private X (formerly Twitter) account, Arijit clarified that his decision was not impulsive or triggered by a single incident. “There is not one reason behind this, there are several reasons plus I have been trying to do this since a long time. Finally I have gathered the right courage,” he wrote. He also spoke candidly about his creative restlessness. “One of the reasons is simple, I get bored pretty quick, that’s why I keep changing arrangements of the same songs and perform them on stage. So here is the thing, I got bored. I need to do some other music to live,” he explained.

Making space for new voices and returning to roots

Arijit further revealed that he wants to step aside to allow new talent to emerge. “Another reason is I am excited to hear some singer come up and give me real motivation,” he added.Sharing his future plans, the singer said he wishes to reconnect with his musical roots. “I am going back to Indian Classical Music. I wanna go back to making music. I wanna start again,” he wrote. He also reassured fans that he would honour all his existing commitments, adding, “So, you might get some releases this year.” Go to Source
