'45' box office collections day 1: Upendra film opens well in theatres; Movie collects over Rs 4.25 crore in India

Upendra’s latest film ’45’ has launched strongly at the box office, raking in approximately Rs 4.25 crore on its opening day. The Kannada version saw impressive occupancy, particularly in afternoon and evening shows.

Upendra’s new film ’45’ has started its box office run on a good note. The film released on Thursday and showed strong numbers from the first day itself. On day 1, 45 collected around Rs 4.25 crore India net.

Occupancy grows as day passes

According to the Sacnilk website, the Kannada version of 45 recorded good occupancy on its opening day. The overall Kannada occupancy on the opening day was 69.21%. Morning shows began at 44.56%. Afternoon shows saw a big jump to 76.04%. Evening shows stayed strong at 78.91%. Night shows also held well with 77.34% occupancy.

Cast and crew details

The film is directed by Arjun Janya. ’45’ features a strong cast with Shivarajkumar, Upendra, Raj B. Shetty, Rajendran, and Pooja Ramachandra playing key roles. The film has been promoted as a serious and intense watch with several philosophical aspects that one can expect from an Upendra film.

Review talks about ambition

The film has also started getting mixed but interesting reactions. ETimes review for the film reads, “Technically, the film is impressive. The cinematography is polished, the background score is effective, and Arjun Janya makes a conscious choice to avoid songs altogether. The VFX work is commendable in parts, though inconsistent in others. The film also holds a surprise for fans in the climax, leaning heavily into spirituality, which may feel overwhelming and enthralling for viewers. Ultimately, 45 is a film packed with ambition and ideas, perhaps too many. While its core message about life and death occasionally gets lost amid mass-action elements and fan service, it remains a unique attempt. For viewers willing to watch it through a fan’s lens, 45 offers moments worth experiencing.”DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
