J&K rain fury: 3 killed in Ramban cloudburst, 4 missing; rescue ops underway

At least three people were killed and four others went missing after a cloudburst hit Rajgarh village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district early Saturday, sweeping away two houses and a school building.

At least three people were killed and four others went missing after a cloudburst struck Rajgarh village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district around 12.30 am on Saturday, officials said.

The sudden deluge swept away two houses and a school building. Rescue teams have been deployed, and efforts are on to trace the missing.

The incident comes a day after cloudbursts in Uttarakhand left five dead and 11 missing, while in Manali, parts of the town along the river were washed away. The Jammu-Srinagar highway also remained blocked for the fifth consecutive day.
