‘In Chinese culture…’: New York mayor aide caught in cash-for-campaign row, cites tradition

New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ aide has been caught up in a bribery case where he was found handing a bag of chips filled with cash to a reporter during a campaign event. Winnie Greco resigned from her post after she came under the FBI’s scrutiny.

Greco, Adams’ adviser, tried to give the bag to The City’s reporter, Katie Honan, during the opening of the mayor’s campaign headquarters in Harlem. The bag contained a red envelope holding a $100 bill and several $20 bills, according to the publication.
