This will be the first time Neeraj will be facing off against Nadeem since the Paris Olympics 2024, where the Pakistani athlete won the gold with a  92.27m throw. Neeraj clinched the silver with a 89.45m throw.

The 27-year-old Neeraj had won the World Championships gold with an 88.17m throw in Budapest in 2023. He is the first Indian to win a gold medal in the World Athletics Championships. He had also won silver in 2022.
