‘They’re just too good’: US Open 2025 final to feature Alcaraz vs Sinner in third straight Grand Slam clash

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will clash in the US Open 2025 men’s singles final, marking their third straight Grand Slam showdown this year. Novak Djokovic admitted after his semifinal loss to Alcaraz that both youngsters are simply playing at another level right now. Fans are going crazy on social media as the two stars battle for supremacy on Sunday.

The US Open 2025 men’s singles final is going to be a blockbuster affair as Jannik Sinner takes on Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday, September 7. The two young stars of tennis are ready to write another big chapter in their rivalry.

Jannik Sinner booked his spot in the final after beating Felix Auger-Aliassime in four sets (6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4) in a match that lasted more than three hours at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Saturday. Many thought it would be an easy win for him, but Felix played really well and even took the second set. In the end, Sinner showed his class and got the job done.

This will be a chance for Sinner to defend his US Open title and also go for his fifth Grand Slam overall. He has already won the Australian Open twice (2024, 2025), Wimbledon (2025), and the 2024 US Open. With his latest victory, he has now reached all four Grand Slam finals in the same year, joining legends like Rod Laver, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic.

On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz took down 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic in straight sets in their semifinal. Djokovic, who has been the biggest name in tennis for years, admitted that Alcaraz and Sinner are simply playing at a level higher than him right now. Alcaraz already has five Grand Slam titles, including the 2022 US Open, and will be aiming for his sixth.

“I lost three out of four Slams in semis against these guys, so they’re just too good, playing on a really high level. Unfortunately, I ran out of gas after the second set. I think I had enough energy to battle him and to keep up with his rhythm for two sets. After that I was gassed out, and he kept going,” Djokovic said after his game against Alcaraz.

Netizens react to another Sincaraz final

This final is special because it is the third major Slam final this year between Alcaraz and Sinner. Alcaraz won the French Open final in June, while Sinner got his revenge at Wimbledon in July. Now, the US Open will be the tiebreaker for both players. Meanwhile, fans are going crazy on social media, lauding Alcaraz and Sinner for reaching yet another major final this year.
