‘Ghaati Day 1: Anushka starrer off to strong start

'Ghaati' box office collections Day 1: Anushka Shetty-starrer off to strong start, earns Rs 2 crore on opening day

Anushka Shetty’s latest action entertainer ‘Ghaati’ has opened on a promising note at the box office. According to early estimates, the film earned an India net collection of around Rs 2 crore on its first day. According to the Sacnilk, the film recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of 23.98% on Friday, September 5, 2025. Hyderabad turned out to be the strongest market with 30.50% occupancy across shows, and the film peaking at 35% during the night screenings. Vijayawada saw a 21.75% occupancy, showing consistent footfall across the day, while Bengaluru’s numbers remained on the lower side at 11.75%, though analysts expect them to grow over the weekend. In Chennai, the film put up a healthy 28% overall occupancy, with evening and night shows reaching as high as 40%.

Tamil market shows steady rise

In Tamil Nadu, ‘Ghaati’ recorded an overall occupancy of 18.78% on its opening day. The morning shows began slowly at 11.18%. The momentum picked up during the afternoon at 19.05%. It peaked during the evening with 24.36%. Although the night shows settled slightly lower at 20.54%, the trend suggests a positive word-of-mouth effect is in play. If the film continues its upward trajectory, especially during the crucial Saturday-Sunday window, it could emerge as a strong performer at the box office in the coming weeks.

‘Ghaati’ review

ETimes gave the movie a rating of 3 stars out of 5 and an excerpt from our review reads, “Ghaati is a revenge drama with strong performances, especially from Anushka Shetty, and an immersive setting in the Eastern Ghats. While the second half doesn’t fully match the promise of the first, the film remains a watchable effort that balances spectacle with substance.”DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
