Manchester United’s 29-year-old outcast receives enquiry from La Liga club

Manchester United may soon manage to offload a 29-year-old outcast as they have received an enquiry from the La Liga club Real Betis, who are also trying to sign Antony from the Red Devils.

Manchester United are desperately looking to add a few crucial players, including a midfielder and a goalkeeper, to their squad after a poor start to the new English Premier League season. It has long been felt at Old Trafford that the club needs a replacement for Andre Onana, who is considered error-prone, and a defensive midfielder.

VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, Aston Villa’s Amadou Onana and Chelsea player Andrey Santos are reportedly on United’s radar for the midfield spot, while they are also inching closer to signing Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

Amid the news of new players joining Man United, it has emerged that castaway Andre Onana has received an offer from Spain. United are reportedly not happy with Onana as their goalkeeper and Turkish Altay Bayındır has started both the EPL matches so far for the Red Devils.

Betis enquire about Onana

United want to sell the 29-year-old goalkeeper, who joined them for €50m two years ago from Inter Milan, but they have not managed to strike a good deal. Reportedly, United are ready to take just €35m for him. Meanwhile, Indykaila has stated that La Liga club Real Betis have enquired about Onana.

Betis had been in contact with United to make a permanent deal for Antony, but they have also turned their attention towards Onana. However, it’s difficult to see how Betis would include Onana in their team.

Betis signed goalkeepers Pau Lopez and Alvaro Valles on free transfers, with the former being the No.1 choice currently. In such a scenario, it would be difficult for Betis to include Onana in their squad, especially given La Liga’s salary restrictions.

The other argument can be that they may still sell some players and create a space for Onana.

Betis are showing big ambitions by trying to sign Antony on a permanent deal and could also provide an escape route to Onana, who impressed with Inter Milan before joining United.
