India vs Oman live streaming: Blue tigers eye history in final CAFA Nations Cup 2025 match

Indian football team will look to end the CAFA Nations Cup 2025 with a historic result against the higher-ranked Oman on Monday in Tajikistan. Here’s all you need to know about IND vs OMA match.

The Indian football team will look to make history as they take on Oman in the third-placed playoff of the CAFA Nations Cup 2025 at the Hisor Central Stadium in Hisor, Tajikistan, on Monday (8 September). The second-lowest-ranked team in the CAFA Nations Cup 2025, India, qualified for the third-placed match by finishing second in their group.

However, Khalid Jamil’s Blue Tigers now face a daunting task against world No 79 side Oman, who have Carlos Queiroz, a former Manchester United assistant, as their head coach. As far as history is concerned, India have never beaten Oman in a football match.

India and Oman have played 10 matches so far, with the latter winning seven games. Three matches ended in a draw. But India coach Khalid Jamil is upbeat before the tough game.

“All our players are fine, and are all positive after these results. We must continue this positivity into the next game. I have a good feeling that we could get a positive result,” said Jamil. “We felt from the very start that we could do something good here, and I must say that it is the belief and hard work of the players that have brought us the CAFA Nations Cup Play-off stage.

“The commitment that the players showed was amazing – be it seniors or juniors, everyone contributed. The way they adapted to the conditions was commendable. I never felt like we were here to just participate – we came with a purpose, and the feeling was always positive,” he said.

India started their campaign by scripting an upset against higher-ranked Tajikistan as the Blue Tigers won the match 2-1. They lost 3-0 to Iran and played out a goalless draw against Afghanistan in the remaining group matches.

“Oman are a very good team. They have a good coach (Carlos Queiroz), quality players, and they’ve done well in their group. It will definitely not be easy, and we’ll have to fight for everything. But we are ready for it,” Jamil said.

The Oman game will serve as a perfect opportunity for India to prepare for the upcoming two AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers against Singapore in October.
