The body of the missing woman was found buried nearby her house, with balls of naphthalene playing a key role in the discovery. This came shortly after she was reported missing by her husband, who himself went missing soon after the police complaint.

The incident was reported from Wardha district in Maharashtra. According to the police, the husband had filed a missing person’s report for his wife at a local police station a few days ago.

However, when police tried to contact him for more details about his missing wife, his phone was switched off. This raised suspicions, so officers went to their home in Hinganghat, Wardha, NDTV reported.

On reaching the house, police noticed a strong smell near the scene. They found several balls of naphthalene on the ground and observed that the soil beneath them appeared freshly disturbed. Upon digging, they discovered the woman’s body wrapped in a sack buried in a pit close to the house.

Details about how the murder took place or what happened afterward have not yet been released. Police have begun a new investigation and are trying to locate the missing husband.

In another case, a man was arrested in Gurugram for killing his wife during a domestic dispute. The incident happened in Naharpur Kasan village, Manesar area, on Thursday night.

According to police, the couple, Nisha Bisht and Rajendra, both from Uttarakhand, were married in December 2024. They often argued while living in a rented house. During a quarrel, Nisha attacked Rajendra with kitchen tongs, but he hit her with a rolling pin, knocking her unconscious. He then strangled her with a scarf.

Police recovered Nisha’s body on Friday morning and registered a case. Rajendra was arrested and has confessed to the crime. He is currently being questioned, and a post-mortem has been ordered.
