Jammu Flood: At least 30 people have lost their lives, and extensive destruction has been reported in Jammu after relentless rainfall triggered flash floods, landslides, and cloudbursts.

Continuous downpours over the last four days have swollen rivers, swept away roads, and forced residents to move to safer locations.

Authorities have issued flood alerts, urging people to avoid venturing near water bodies as rescue and relief operations continue around the clock.

The teams of NDRF, SDRF, and the Indian Army have been pressed to carry the rescue efforts.

Officials confirmed that a cloudburst in Charu Nallah, Bhalessa in Doda district, unleashed flash floods, inundating residential areas.

Terrifying Visuals Surface

A stretch of road near the fourth Tawi bridge was washed away on Monday as rising water levels from relentless rainfall continued to swell nearby rivers and streams.

Another video showed that heavy rains in Jammu have submerged the Har Ki Pauri temple, causing significant flooding in the area.

The Mughal Maidan bridge in Kishtwar also collapsed following heavy rainfall, disrupting local connectivity.

Meanwhile, visuals from the Gadigarh area of Jammu showed people being rescued by the Indian Army. Similar scenes came to the fore from Katra, where people were being taken to the safe zone following a landslide.

Rivers across the region, including the Tawi, Ujh, Basanter, and Sahar Khad, are swelling at or above danger levels.

In Udhampur, the Tawi has risen past the 20-foot danger mark, while the Basanter River in Samba surged beyond 4.5 feet earlier today.
