A young man on a scooter allegedly ran down his ex-girlfriend on Thursday evening in the Kalpana Nagar area of Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, after she refused to continue their relationship.

According to police sources, the victim, a young woman, had ended her relationship with the accused some time ago. The man had allegedly been pressuring and threatening her to reconcile, and when she refused, his behaviour reportedly escalated into aggression and violence.

Eyewitness accounts and preliminary investigation suggest that the man, riding a high-speed Activa scooter, deliberately targeted the victim while she was on the road. Trying to defend herself, the woman hurled a stone at him. Enraged, the accused sped up and rammed her with the scooter before fleeing the spot, NDTV reported.

The victim sustained injuries in the attack and later complained to the Hiranagar Police Station.

Acting on her statement, a case of assault, intimidation, and intentional harm has been registered against the accused by the police. According to investigations, the man is a repeat offender, with seven criminal cases already registered against him in various police stations.

“We have identified the accused and confirmed his criminal background. A manhunt has been launched, and he will be arrested soon,” NDTV quoted a senior police official from Hiranagar as saying.
