India rejects Peter Navarro’s claims on trade and energy ties with Russia, calling his remarks inaccurate and misleading

India on Friday rejected comments made by White House trade advisor Peter Navarro, calling his remarks “inaccurate and misleading.”

“We have seen the inaccurate and misleading statements made by Mr. (Peter) Navarro and obviously, we reject them,” said MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal during the ministry’s weekly briefing on Friday.

The response came after Navarro made controversial claims about India’s trade and energy ties with Russia, accusing the country’s elite, specifically the Brahmin community, of profiting from discounted Russian oil.
