Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday hit out at her predecessor, Arvind Kejriwal, after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader shared what the BJP claimed was an “edited” video of her remarks on Congress’s allegations of electronic voting machine (EVM) tampering.

Speaking at a public event while laying the foundation stone of a multi-level electric bus depot, Gupta accused Kejriwal of being more focused on her videos than on governance.

“Kejriwal Sir, please reduce watching my videos, interviews, and reels. I think you watch my reels all day to check what Madam says and what Madam does not say,” she said.

The BJP leader further urged him to focus on Punjab, where AAP is in power, as the state grapples with devastating floods.

“If Kejriwal wants to focus, he should focus on the people of Punjab. He is never seen with the victims,” Gupta said.

Her remarks came a day after Kejriwal posted a 14-second clip on X, where Gupta is heard saying, “As long as Congress was manipulating EVMs for 70 years, it was fine, but now that we’ve done it, they are feeling bad.”

Sharing the video, Kejriwal asked, “What is the CM of Delhi saying?”

The BJP countered that the video was misleading and selectively edited.

The party circulated the full clip of Gupta’s interview, in which she expanded her criticism of Congress, accusing Rahul Gandhi of misleading the public.

“The great conman who spreads lies and rumours suffered such a shock from the defeat in the Delhi elections that he started cutting half-baked clips and became a ‘troller’, sir ji,” the caption reads.

In the full video clip shared by the BJP, Gupta can be heard saying, “When they win, it’s the public’s mandate, and when we win, the EVMs are hacked? Where is this formula written?” she said.

She added that Gandhi had repeatedly “lied to the people despite being given many opportunities to govern.”
