In another dowry-related abuse case, a 23-year-old woman from Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone saved herself after her husband allegedly tied her up, tortured her, and inserted a heated knife into her mouth when she cried out in pain.

According to the victim, her husband, who was allegedly intoxicated, burned her with a hot knife across her torso, arms, and legs, leaving multiple severe burn marks.

The victim revealed that the assault took place after she failed to meet her husband’s dowry demands, India Today reported. She also stated that her husband had long expressed his dislike for her following their marriage in February this year.

After suffering repeated abuse, Khushboo Pipliya finally managed to free herself early on Monday and alerted her family using a mobile phone borrowed from a household worker. Following this, she was taken to the district hospital in Awarkachh for treatment.

The police have registered a case in connection to the matter and have launched an investigation. The victim’s family has demanded strict action against the husband for the brutal assault.

The police were informed by the hospital that a woman, Khushboo, a resident of Anjar, had been severely burned by her husband with a heated knife. Upon reaching the hospital, the police recorded her statement, where she revealed that after the wedding, her husband repeatedly expressed dislike for her and threatened that she should leave.

Khushboo said that on Sunday night, her husband, while intoxicated, first beat her with kicks and then dragged her into the kitchen. He then tied her hands and feet before burning her with a heated knife in several areas. Other family members were allegedly present in the house during the attack.

Khushboo managed to escape around 4:30 am on Monday by freeing herself, took a mobile from a cleaning staff member, and contacted her family.

On receiving the call from his daughter, Khushboo’s father, Lokesh Verma, sent his younger son to bring her home.

Police investigations are underway, and the authorities have recorded several statements to determine the full extent of the incident.
