The festival commemorates Lord Ram’s victory over Ravan and also honours Goddess Durga’s triumph over Mahishasur—both legends reinforcing the timeless truth that righteousness ultimately prevails.
Adding to the celebrations this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the Dussehra festivities in the national capital.
According to officials, he is scheduled to attend the IP Extension Ramlila Committee event in Patparganj, East Delhi, around 6 pm on Thursday, where he will take part in the traditional Ravana Dahan ceremony.
