Around 20 people, mostly children, were injured when a pot of hot gruel accidentally spilled during an Annadanam (community meal) organised as part of the Dussehra celebrations at a Durga Devi pandal in Seethampeta, officials said.

District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad said the victims suffered burn injuries on their legs and were immediately shifted to King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakhapatnam, where a team of specialist doctors led by KGH Superintendent Dr. Vani treated them in the casualty ward.
